We invest in our children today, in their knowledge, character, confidence and potential, because a brighter tomorrow for all rests in those little hands.

We are a not-for-profit organisation invested in the development of children through education, character, confidence and community.

We believe education is about more than what a child learns in a classroom. It is about helping children understand who they are, develop confidence, build positive character and learn to contribute respectfully and constructively to the world around them.

Our vision

Hedaia aims to create sustainable educational opportunities that help children and youth become confident, capable and positive members of society.

Our work focuses on:

  • advancing education for the benefit of the public;

  • supporting the intellectual, personal and social development of children;

  • developing confidence, character, resilience and a positive sense of identity; and

  • strengthening social cohesion, inclusion and understanding between communities.

More than learning

We want children to leave Hedaia with more than knowledge.

Through education, mentoring and community engagement, we aim to help young people develop communication skills, critical thinking, leadership, character and confidence — equipping them to thrive within their families, communities and broader Australian society.

An affordable and sustainable model

Hedaia does not offer free education. We charge a modest fee designed to help cover the genuine costs of delivering quality programs and, importantly, to build a sustainable educational ecosystem around our children.

We believe achieving meaningful outcomes requires more than a weekly class. It requires capable educators, resources, safe environments, ongoing development and opportunities that support the whole child.

Our fees therefore help Hedaia remain sustainable while allowing us to reinvest resources into improving programs, developing new initiatives and creating greater opportunities for children and families.

Education as a bridge

Hedaia believes education can bring people together.

Our vision extends beyond the classroom. Through education and community engagement, we seek to encourage cultural understanding, reduce social barriers and foster positive relationships between people of different backgrounds.

In doing so, we hope to contribute to a more connected, respectful and harmonious Australia.

A not-for-profit organisation

Hedaia is established and operated as a not-for-profit organisation for charitable purposes and public benefit.

Hedaia is not established to generate private profit. Any surplus is retained within the organisation and directed towards advancing its educational and community objectives.

This allows us to build something that is sustainable, purposeful and capable of growing with the needs of future generations.

Our commitment to children

Children are at the heart of everything we do.

We are committed to providing environments that prioritise their safety, wellbeing and development, supported by appropriate child-safety, screening, training and conduct requirements.

Every child deserves an environment where they feel valued, can build confidence and are encouraged to discover their potential.

Building something that lasts

Today, Hedaia begins with education.

Tomorrow, we aspire to build a broader ecosystem of learning, mentoring, leadership, community education and developmental opportunities that help young people thrive.

Because when we invest in the education, character and confidence of our children, we are not simply shaping their future, we are shaping the future of our communities.
